Over the past 4 weeks, I’ve:
Packed and mailed 600kg of things.
Made the 10hr trip to Kanagawa 9 times.
Cracked my laptop.
Blew my bike tire out.
Worked 23hrs a week.
Cried 3 times.
Had a complete meltdown once.
Had my apartment flooded once.
Had two of my new students try to set me up with their grandchildren.
Called the immigration lawyer twice.
Been (jokingly) proposed to as a way to stay in Japan.
Unregistered from Aomori.
Registered for Kanagawa.
Left my wallet in Aomori when I was 9hrs away in Kanagawa.
Through the rough times of moving, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me encouraging messages. It’s been really stressful for me because my visa will expire next week and my old work isn’t fulfilling their legal obligations and so getting my visa renewed under my new job has been incredibly difficult and stressful on top of moving.
I am so thankful to my new employer, because they’re footing the immigration lawyer bill because they can’t believe how strange and cruel my Board of Education is being as I leave their employment.
If you haven’t been emailed yet, and you bought a plush from my sales post, your plush will go this Thursday. My friend with a car bailed on me this weekend, so when I am back in Kanagawa, the post will come to my place and pick them up. Man, I love my new job and only working 4-5hr days.
If you’re still waiting on a quote or response, please be patient a little while longer. I don’t have internet set up in my new place and it’s incredibly difficult to respond on my phone. I’ll reply by Wednesday.
I can’t even begin to describe how thankful I am to everyone who’s been patient and supportive.
I’m so excited to visit America next week! I miss my beautiful hometown in New York and I can’t wait to see my family and go to the drive-in theaters and hopefully have a meet up in NYC with other Alpacasso lovers!
